This map, compiled for the Lake Washington School  District illustrates elementary, middle, and high school boundaries while identifying all schools and administrative offices within the district.  The underlying base map is kept current with new streets and presents a high-quality cartographic view of the district.  This map is used commonly as a tool to discuss and display planned boundaries for new schools and sites.  The data is multi-layered, facilitating many different views of the district information.

Head Start, an organization within the Seattle School District, approached us regarding both a representation of their planned boundaries, and also assistance with preparing a written description of those boundaries.  This multi-layer map also included clear-plastic overlays which allowed the District staff to communicate concisely the proposed boundary options to their associates. This mapping job has been a work in progress for many years, allowing the staff of Head Start to refine their options through time, and revert back to other previous boundary information with ease.

The Lake Stevens School District not only needed a high quality map with school and district boundaries for public handouts and administrative purposes, but also a downloadable PDF that could be posted on their web site.  This district has other electronic overlays on file such as grids used for transportation planning.  Such information can easily be integrated with the cartographic display on this map.

The Snohomish School District utilizes our mapping in the form of large wall maps and more convenient sized maps for distribution to the various schools within the district.  Also used is a small generalized arterial map that is distributed on a letter sized sheet that illustrates the district boundary and indexes the individual schools.
